Scott Monroe graduated from Johnson State College with a bachelor’s degree in creative writing and journalism. He came to Maine in 2008, reporting for the Morning Sentinel in Waterville; and he went on to serve as city editor of the Kennebec Journal in Augusta. From 2013 to 2024, he served as managing editor of the Sentinel and KJ. In 2024, Scott was named the Maine Trust for Local News’ first managing editor. He oversees all newsroom production, the digital team, and the community editors of Maine Trust’s weekly newspapers.
